Man oh man, what a past few months we’ve gone through here at BWF. A buddy of mine is very fond of the expression, “Whatever don’t kill you simply makes you stronger”. I hope he’s right cause at least that way the torture we’ve gone through recently will actually be put to some use rather than just to keep me up crying at my bedside late at night…ok so it’s not that bad but still, not easy being in BWF.
I’m going to spare most of the drama simply because I don’t feel like rehashing it. Let’s just say there is a lot riding on our premiere on Jan 9th. We have a huge opportunity to start the new year off with a bang and build up some momentum going into the festival circuit (hopefully if we get accepted). However there are naturally problems, as there always are with anything we do. “If it’s not easy than it’s not worth doing.” That’s another quote a buddy of mine reminds me of from time to time. If he brings it up one more time I’m taking a dump in his morning bowl of fruit loops. I would KILL for things to be just a little easier. I don’t mind that stuff is hard, I like that to be honest, but this is getting ridiculous.
Before I get too far ahead of you there are two main issues we’re trying to deal with and a few smaller ones. One major issue has been getting an HD projector for the theater. Now since it is the Christmas season I wrote a note to the big cheese himself, the man in red, Santa Claus to leave me an HD projector under my tree. When I went to look on Christmas morn I found a note attached to a piece of coal. It read, “AN HD PROJECTOR IS $25,000 DICK HEAD. GUESS AGAIN!”…ok fine that didn’t happen. However it is true that HD projectors can run up to $25K and to say that’s not in the budget is an understatement.
