Steve's Blog

Seems to be the mantra around BWF the past few months. One would think that once we finished filming the movie that we’d be done with the heavy lifting on the project. We have our overarching story all filmed and nearly completely edited and deadlines for submissions are still a few weeks out. So why in the world are we so swamped doing stuff? Let me see if I can explain.

The sketches themselves have been a total pain for starters. Despite advertising anywhere and everywhere we could, the film festival idea flopped royally. One of those thoughts that was a good idea on paper and in theory but just for whatever reason never seemed to get off the ground. As a result we are left to scramble for a lot more sketches than we were hoping we’d have to film. What I have really enjoyed about it though is it’s given me the chance to be more involved in the creative side of things. I got a chance to play one of Alex’s rolls in a sketch we shot since he’s still the walking wounded (read his blog for more details). I had a ton of fun with it. Acting has always been one of those things that I wanted to do but never really had an outlet for it. I was always involved in too much other stuff to get too into drama of any kind during high school and even as far up as this year in college. After my inaugural roll here at BWF (one with actual lines this time) I caught a bit of the acting bug and started talking to Alex about getting more involved.
