Steve's Blog

Well, as I’m sure everyone reading these is now aware we’ve been really hammering out the feature length movie and making some really solid progress. If you actually didn’t know that until now then close this window, go to the home page, find the first blogs and news posts, and start reading. For those of you still with me now, I just wanted to share some of my thoughts up to this point.

I have had a wide array of emotions over the last few days. The first and most prevalent is confidence. I really love this project and love what we’ve been able to do and how we’ve been jamming things out so far. We had some road blocks along the way but everything is fitting into place. It’s hard, and I’m glad it’s hard. If this were easy to do everyone would be out there doing it, but it does ware on you a bit.

Part of that ware and tare comes from doing the same things and telling the same jokes over and over. We all find them very funny (cast and crew) and we certainly have had to stop before due to laughter on set, but this does make me a little apprehensive. Yes the jokes are funny, but how long do they stay funny? We need to make a movie with a lot of REWATCH VALUE. We don’t have the popularity to have a successful movie and just have people come to see it once and that’s it. This has to become a cult movie, a movie that fans will come and see 10 times over, buy the DVDs, the collector’s edition releases, T-Shirts, Hats, computer games, and anything else we can think of. I wonder if our sense of humor is in line with what other people might want to see. I wonder if maybe these jokes are just funny to us because we’re all together having a good time. I wonder if the movie will have the same appeal when it’s coming from a tape instead of live on the spot. All these things make me a little apprehnsive.
