Whirlwind!

Life has a funny way of working things out. One minute you’re in complete control and the next you’re grasping for anything to hold onto. The last few weeks have been more of the latter. We’re feverishly getting ready for the big premiere: getting our press release out, getting the website into shape, and working to get folks through the door.

I didn’t expect to be hit so hard by finals week at school. To be honest, I’ve never had a tough finals week. This finals week turned out to be more like two weeks of finals. I take 6 courses per semester to keep myself on track to graduate this spring. When finals week got close, I realized that I would have an Artificial Intelligence Assignment, Artificial Intelligence Take Home Final Test, Principles of Design 5 part final project, a Senior Game Project to finish, a final project for 3D Level Design, an Ethics Take Home Final, an Ethics In-Class Final, and a Computer Networking Presentation. Disaster struck on the first day of finals week. An ice storm destroyed the power structure of my town. I was out of power for 3 days with the files, programs, and instructions for my finals stuck on my powerless desktop computer. Needless to say, I had to ask for extensions on everything I could while pushing around my work schedule at the hospital to suite the need for working on school. And that’s how a normally simple week turned into a catastrophe.

I’ve just about got everything in order (although there are two side projects that I wish I could have more time to start on) but on Monday I leave for a 1 week vacation in Florida. In some ways, I wish I wasn’t going because I can be so much more productive here. On the other hand, I need it. I need the sun, the air, and the steak.

Just in case I don’t get to blog again until the premiere/advanced screening, I hope to see you all there!
