Colby-Sawyer Showing
November 16, 2009 | Leave a Comment
A night at Colby-Sawyer College gained us a handful of enthusiastic fans. It was a great trip to the great white wintery north of New Hampshire with Rick, John, Brandon and myself. Packed in the “mobile office” we set off to a pre-established college show, hoping for an audience. The film club enjoyed the film, impresses with our $150 budget, as usual, and were begging for the bloopers on the main screen after the film. It only reaffirmed that our film is worth showing and has merit as a project. Unfortunately, we could not get the new edit exported and burned in time for the show, so settled with our original cut. Seeing some of the scenes drag, and some mishandled edits, I can only begin to wonder how great the polished version is going to be once we figure out all of our life demands. Things are moving, our weekly meetings are instilling the positive vales of Steve, Nick and I, and we are trying to reaffirm in our team that we mean business. It’s a slippery slope trying to managing people for free, and still try to sort out your own pieces when time seems to be a rare commodity. Sometimes I catch myself burning time with games or TV, similar to the characters of the film, I don’t want a defeatist attitude, but it can be a challenge to center ones self and keep the chin up and move forward after grinding a day out at work. It has opened my eyes to the world, and makes me strive for success, beating the statistics of failure and living a life of averageness. We are bound for greatness, we just must build the bridge there.
